Saudi Arabia welcomes UNSC's condemnation of Houthi attacks

Saudi Arabia welcomes UNSC's condemnation of Houthi attacks

Saudi Arabia on Saturday welcomed the statement issued by the UN Security Council (UNSC), condemning the attacks carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia on its civilian territories.
According to the Saudi News Agency (SPA) citing a Foreign Ministry statement, this condemnation came in recognition of the importance of solving the crisis politically.

The solution would contain the negative repercussions resulting from the Houthi terrorist militia's rejection of ceasefire calls, and the lack of positive engagement in political negotiations conducing into the return of security and stability of Yemen, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release.

The ministry expressed appreciation of and thanks to the member states of the UN Security Council for their interest in this situation, which came within the framework of their responsibilities towards maintaining international peace and security.

The statement represents an important impetus for the success of the efforts made by Saudi Arabia regionally and internationally to support reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis.

Meanwhile, in Jeddah, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, welcomed the presidential statement issued by the UN Security Council, condemning the attacks carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia on the territory of Saudi Arabia and its civilian facilities.

Al-Othaimeen said: "The Security Council's condemnation confirms the special importance that the members of the Council attach to the Yemen crisis and also comes in recognition of the importance of solving the crisis politically to contain its negative repercussions resulting from the Houthi terrorist militia's rejection of ceasefire calls, and the lack of positive engagement in political negotiations conducing into the return of security and stability of the Republic of Yemen, leading to further deterioration of the humanitarian situation of people resulting from the continuing practices of the Houthi militia in besieging cities and preventing humanitarian aid from reaching Yemeni areas in need".

Al-Othaimeen expressed appreciation of and thanks to the member states of the UN Security Council for their interest in this situation, which came within the framework of their responsibilities towards maintaining international peace and security, and for what the statement represents as an important impetus for the success of the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regionally and internationally in order to support reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis.

The State of Kuwait too welcomed Saturday the statement issued by the UN Security Council condemning the Houthi militia's attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's territories and civilian facilities.

In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this statement confirms the council's sense of the threat being posed by Houthi practices to the security and stability of the region and its states and multiplying the human suffering of the Yemeni people.

The statement also confirms the importance that the Council attaches to the Yemen crisis and the need to reach a political solution to it and pushes the Houthi militia to positively interact with the efforts being made by the international community, including the relentless efforts and initiatives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reach a comprehensive and desired political solution to the Yemeni crisis.

The ministry expressed sincere thanks to the member states of the Security Council for assuming their responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security and for their support to end the Yemeni crisis.

In Manama, the kingdom of Bahrain has welcomed the statement issued by the United Nations Security Council president condemning the Houthi terrorist attacks against the territories and civilian facilities of Saudi Arabia, which reflect the Houthi determination to reject calls for a ceasefire in Yemen, and to engage in the political process to restore security and stability there, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hailed the statement, which expresses international support for the sincere efforts being made by Saudi Arabia to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis and stop the deterioration of the humanitarian situation of the Yemeni people as a result of the Houthi militia’s practices and violations of all international laws.
