OSAKA: In a significant cultural exchange initiative, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture is hosting a week-long cultural event in Osaka, Japan, set to conclude on July 15.
This event aims to spotlight the Kingdom's rich heritage, particularly its creative industries and traditional craftsmanship, before Japanese and global audiences.
Taking place at the Expo Gallery EAST, this cultural week coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Japan and Saudi Arabia, underscoring a deepening bond between the two nations.
The event is part of Saudi Arabia's broader 'Year of Handicrafts 2025' initiative, which seeks to globally showcase the Kingdom’s artisanal talents.
Among the highlights are a photography exhibition documenting the history of bilateral relations and an exhibition organized by the Heritage Commission in collaboration with the Saudi Artisanal Co., featuring live demonstrations of traditional crafts such as palm frond weaving, Sadu weaving, and clay pot making.
Additionally, attendees can experience a traditional Saudi majlis setup, complete with Saudi coffee and dates, along with a joint musical performance.
Saudi Arabia's Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka is set to feature over 700 immersive cultural activities, offering visitors a comprehensive view of the Kingdom’s innovation and historical depth, according to recent reports.
This cultural week is part of Saudi Arabia's strategy to foster deeper ties not just with Japan but with nations worldwide, showcasing the Kingdom as a hub of rich culture and innovative spirit.
