Saudi Arabia received 31.81 mm of rainfall in April, highest in 40 years
The average rainfall in Saudi Arabia reached 31.81 mm in April, the highest in 40 years.
The Kingdom’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture issued a hydrology report for the month, measuring rainfall and flood waters collected from dams.
It found that there were 26 rainy days during April, covering most areas of the Kingdom. The highest recorded rainfall was 79 mm on April 14 in the Asir region.
MEWA began implementing its operational plan for dams in May by opening gates for irrigation purposes, while preserving the safe level of water allocated for drinking.
