Royal Saudi Air Force Joins INIOCHOS 2024: Largest European Military Exercise with Six Typhoon Aircraft
The Royal Saudi Air Force is participating in the annual military exercise INIOCHOS 2024 at the Greek Andravida Air Base.
The exercise involves multiple countries and runs from April 1 to 18.
The Saudi team's deployment began on April 1, with the primary execution phase taking place from April 4 to 18.
The secondary and force redeployment phases are scheduled for April 18-21.
INIOCHOS 2024 is one of Europe's largest military exercises.
The Royal Saudi Arabian Air Force (RSAF) will send six Typhoon aircraft and their crews to participate in the multinational military exercise led by the Hellenic Air Force (HAF) in Greece.
The RSAF aims to increase readiness and combat-efficiency, exchange expertise, and train on complex air operations in a multinational environment.
The HAF Fighter Weapons School will oversee all missions, which will cover the full spectrum of air operations.
The INIOCHOS drill involves offensive, defensive, and strategic counterair operations, as well as counterland and maritime exercises and combat search and rescue practice.
Participating countries, in addition to the Hellenic Air Force (HAF), are Cyprus, France, Montenegro, Qatar, Romania, Spain, the UK, and the US.
Austria and Portugal will contribute intelligence personnel and special forces, while Germany will send observers.
The number of fighter aircraft and helicopters participating is the largest since the drills began in the 1980s.
