LONDON: Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa met with key Saudi ministers to discuss potential areas of cooperation and support for Syria's economic recovery.

The ninth Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference, taking place from Tuesday to Thursday in Riyadh, serves as a platform for global leaders and ministers to gather and address various aspects of the world economy.

During his stay in Saudi Arabia, Al-Sharaa held multiple meetings with high-ranking officials to enhance bilateral relations.

He was accompanied by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani and Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, a Saudi minister and member of the Council of Ministers.

Their discussions focused on economic cooperation in several key sectors, including energy, industry, infrastructure, and technology.

Syria aims to achieve economic stability through such collaborations.

Separately, President Al-Sharaa met with Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif to discuss security collaboration, economic cooperation, and regional and international development.

He also held talks with Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih, along with Syrian Economy Minister Mohammad Nidal Al-Shaar, concerning investment, development, and reconstruction partnerships with Saudi Arabia.

These meetings are part of Syria's efforts to rebuild its economy.

As a key speaker at the FII9 conference, President Al-Sharaa will address attendees and meet representatives from international investment firms to explore cooperation opportunities and discuss regional economic growth.

His schedule includes a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as confirmed by the Syrian Arab News Agency.

Launched in 2017, the FII has become an important event for showcasing Saudi Arabia's economic diversification strategy under Vision 2030.

This year's conference brings together global policymakers, investors, and corporate leaders to discuss trends affecting the world economy and explore partnerships across emerging industries.
