NATO Condemns Russian Missile Strike; London Celebrates Migration History; Ukraine-US Diplomatic Moves; Saudi Art Icon Passes; Spain Seeks Palestinian Peace

NATO condemns Russian missile strike on grain ship; UK's new travel rules post-Brexit detailed.
NATO condemned a Russian missile strike on a civilian grain ship in the Black Sea on Thursday, calling it an unjustified and reckless attack. NATO spokeswoman Farah Dakhlallah emphasized that the strike exemplifies the perilous nature of Russia's actions.

Meanwhile, in London, the Migration Museum has kicked off the "All Our Stories: Migration and the Making of Britain" exhibition, curated by Aditi Anand. This exhibition, running until December 2025, celebrates the centuries-long contributions of immigrant communities to Britain through photos, testimonies, and art installations, including figures like Michael Marks of Marks & Spencer fame.

In related UK news, starting April 2, 2025, the country will require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for all non-visa travelers, similar to the US ESTA system. This £10 ETA, valid for multiple entries over two years, is set to enhance border security post-Brexit and is expected to impact transfer passenger numbers at Heathrow Airport.

Turning to international diplomacy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced plans to meet with US President Joe Biden this month to present a "victory plan" to end the ongoing war with Russia. This news comes as Biden discusses with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer the possibility of allowing Kyiv to use Western-provided long-range missiles and Zelensky prepares to host an international peace summit in November.

In the cultural realm, the Saudi art community mourns the loss of Safeya Binzagr, celebrated as the "Mona Lisa of Hijaz," who passed away recently. Known for capturing Saudi heritage and social life in her work, Binzagr established the first private museum dedicated to her art and was the first woman to receive the King Abdulaziz Medal of Arts, leaving a lasting legacy in Saudi fine arts.

Lastly, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and other key officials to discuss the recognition of a Palestinian state and regional peace efforts. The meeting emphasized the need for a two-state solution, cessation of Israeli aggression, and activation of international accountability mechanisms to safeguard Palestinian rights and achieve comprehensive peace.
