Makkah Deputy Governor Washes Holy Kaaba on Behalf of King Salman

MAKKAH: The washing ceremony of the Holy Kaaba took place on Thursday, carried out by Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, deputy governor of Makkah, as a representative of King Salman.
Upon his arrival, he utilized a mixture of Zamzam water and rose water to cleanse the interior walls with cloth pieces, prepared by the General Authority for the Two Holy Mosques.
Following this ritualistic purification, Prince Saud performed Tawaf, encircling the Kaaba in reverence.
The washing ceremony was not carried out alone; it was accompanied by a number of officials, members of the accredited Islamic diplomatic corps to the Kingdom, and the hereditary keepers of the Holy Kaaba.
This comprehensive approach emphasizes the importance placed on maintaining the sanctity of the Kaaba, central to the Hajj pilgrimage rituals.
The act symbolizes the preparation for the upcoming Hajj season, where thousands will gather in Makkah to perform their devotions.
