Jordan Sends Humanitarian Aid to Gaza, Conducts Joint Airdrop Operations
More than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza suffer from food shortages as Jordan dispatches aid and conducts joint airdrops with several countries.
LONDON: Jordan has dispatched more humanitarian aid to the Palestinian coastal enclave of Gaza, where over 2 million people are currently suffering from food shortages.
According to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), 38 trucks loaded with essential food supplies were sent to Gaza following a series of seven joint airdrop operations conducted by the Jordanian Armed Forces in collaboration with Germany, the United Arab Emirates, France, and Belgium.
The JHCO emphasized that this initiative demonstrates Jordan's continuous support for the Palestinian people and its active role in coordinating regional humanitarian responses.
The convoy delivered vital food parcels to families in Gaza via the King Hussein Bridge, working alongside the World Food Programme and the Jordanian Armed Forces.
This effort is part of a broader strategy by Jordan aimed at alleviating suffering in the besieged territory, as reported by Petra news agency.
Since late October 2023, Jordan has been coordinating with the JHCO, WFP, and World Central Kitchen to send over 181 land convoys into Gaza.
These convoys have delivered more than 7,932 trucks carrying aid.
Additionally, the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) have conducted a total of 421 airdrops since the conflict in Gaza began, including 284 joint airdrop missions carried out with other countries to provide humanitarian assistance.
