How will Saudis spend Eid Al-Fitr this year?

The National Center for Public Opinion Surveys under King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue has conducted a survey on a sample of Saudi citizens, men and women, on how they will spend Eid Al-Fitr for the year 2023.
The center selected two questions with multiple options about how people will spend the Eid time. It carried out the survey over phone and chose a random sample of 1,955 Saudis, 56% of whom were men, and 44% of women.

The first question revolved around how people preferred to spend the Eid morning. Most citizens answered, by 56%, that they prefer to spend the Eid morning with their small family, while 36% of them prefer to spend it in a large family gathering.

Four percent of the sample answered that they will spend the Eid at work, and 4% also answered that they will sleep immediately after the Eid prayer so that their sleep programs will not be affected.

The center's second question revolved around how will the citizens celebrate the holiday in a comprehensive manner.

The largest percentage, with about 72% of the answers, said that they will celebrate by gathering in a rest houses or in farms with the largest number of relatives, such as uncles and cousins.

Twenty percent of the citizens indicated that they will participate and visit the activities that will be held in their cities on the occasion of Eid, while 4% will join the Eid activities in another Saudi city.

There are 4% of the sample who said that they will travel outside Saudi Arabia during the Eid Al-Fitr days.
