Gunman Attacks School Bus Near Jericho, Wounds 3 Including a 13-Year-Old Boy: West Bank Tensions Escalate
A gun attack occurred near Jericho in the Israeli-occupied West Bank on Thursday, wounding three people, including a 13-year-old boy.
The incident targeted a school bus near Al-Auja, and soldiers were sent to the scene to pursue the suspect.
Reports indicate that a masked gunman opened fire on Israeli cars around 7:00 a.m., hitting a car and the school bus.
A 30-year-old man was seriously wounded, while a 21-year-old man was less seriously injured.
Emergency services confirmed the boy's shrapnel injuries.
The military is currently pursuing the suspect.
Since the October war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, violence has increased in the West Bank.
The conflict began with Hamas's unexpected attack on Israel, resulting in approximately 1,160 deaths.
The Palestinian Authority reports that over 440 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops or settlers in the West Bank since then.
In contrast, Israeli authorities report that at least 17 Israeli soldiers and civilians have been killed in West Bank attacks during the same period.
