The director of the metropolitan health region, Israel Cedeño, said that the estimated 1,000 people per day who are vaccinated with AstraZeneca's anticovid vaccines are being met.
In the first three days, 2,821 people were vaccinated with these doses against SARS-CoV-2.
The Ministry of Health reported this Saturday that it has not reported any person who, once the appointment is scheduled, has rejected the
AstraZeneca vaccine. Similarly, there has been no adverse reaction after having it placed.
"Only the usual, pain in the local area, general malaise, which are normal responses of the immune system," explained
Cedeño.
The official added that the population has understood that the benefits of this
vaccine far outweigh the possible risks.
On April 16, the first 36,000 doses of the
AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in the country. In the coming weeks the arrival of 70 thousand new doses is expected.
