First semester exams begin; Ministry’s directive to restrict daily subjects to two

Hundreds of thousands of male and female students in all phases of education across Saudi Arabia have started sitting for their end-of-the-first semester exams of the current academic year on Sunday.
The General Departments of Education in all the regions and governorates in the Kingdom have completed all preparations for exams. The Ministry of Education issued directives with regard to strictly complying with a number of rules and regulations with regard to the smooth conduct of the examinations.

These included completion of all schools procedures to announcing exam schedules; the arrangement of learning lessons for the exams; the number of exam days in accordance with their requirements and time period, and that is line with the Test Systems and Procedures Manual released by schools so that the exam schedule does not exceed two subjects per day.

Dr. Naif Al-Zari’e, director general of education in the Jeddah governorate, stated that preparations have been made to receive more than 700,000 male and female students to perform their final exams in more than 2,400 schools for boys and girls, in Jeddah, Rabigh, Khulais governorates amid an integrated system of technical and organizational preparations to provide a comfortable atmosphere and a suitable environment for conducting the exams.

In the Riyadh region, about 1.2 million students are sitting for the week-long exams, the results of which will be announced on Thursday. In the Eastern Province, about half a million students are sitting for the exams.

In Madinah, more than 350,000 boy and girl students are sitting for the exams. The results will be announced on Thursday, Nov. 24 through the ‘Noor’ system. More than 200,000 male and female students in public and private education schools are sitting for exams in all educational levels in Taif.
