EU Provides Lebanon with €1 Billion Financial Aid and Military Support (2022-2027)
The European Union (EU) has announced a financial aid package worth one billion euros for Lebanon, according to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
She made this announcement during a joint news conference with Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides on Thursday.
The EU's financial assistance will be accessible from this year until 2027.
In addition to the financial aid, von der Leyen also pledged the EU's support for Lebanon's armed forces.
This assistance will include equipment and training to enhance their capabilities in border management.
