Citizen stranded in Morocco repatriated to Saudi Arabia

Fahd Al-Zahrani, a young Saudi citizen, who was stranded in Morocco, arrived in the Kingdom safely.
The repatriation of the citizen was made possible within 24 hours after a video clip showing his ordeal in Morocco went viral on the social media, thanks to the swift initiative on the part of Al-Baha Emir Prince Hossam Bin Saud.

The emir issued directive to the Saudi embassy in Rabat to take urgent steps to rescue him and ensure his safe return back home.

Fahd arrived at King Saud Airport in Al-Baha on Tuesday morning from Morocco. Following the arrival of the young man, Prince Hossam directed an integrated task team to provide the necessary special care so as to improve his health to stable condition.

During the 24 hours since the spread of a video clip showing his suffering in Morocco, Al-Baha Emir took care of everything necessary to ensure his safe return to his family at the earliest possible time.

For his part, Abdul Hadi Al-Zahrani, brother of Fahd, lauded the quick intervention of the Saudi embassy in Morocco following the directive of Al-Baha Emir. He said that Fahd is in good health.

The Saudi embassy in Morocco came to the rescue of Fahd who was stranded in the African country after losing his money and travel documents. The young man was found traumatized, and that he could only remember that he was from the southern Saudi region of Al-Baha.

The embassy’s intervention came after a video clip about the plight of the man, posted by a young Moroccan citizen, went viral on the social media and the subsequent directive of Prince Hossam to take urgent steps to save him and ensure his safe return back home.

The embassy said in a statement on its Twitter account that it had managed to reach out to the stranded young man. It is noteworthy that the video became an instant hit among a large number of Twitteratis, especially Saudis during the past hours.

Social media activists from not only Saudi Arabia but also from all around the Arab world had interacted with the video in an attempt to help the young man and reach out to his family.
