Biden Hails 'Measure of Justice' in Response to Hezbollah Leader's Death; Middle East Business and Youth Talents Shine Amidst Geopolitical Tensions

Biden hails Israeli airstrike killing Hezbollah leader as 'measure of justice' while emphasizing Middle East peace and defense strategies.
US President Joe Biden described the Israeli airstrike that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut as a "measure of justice" for his numerous victims, including Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians. This strike marks a significant moment in the ongoing conflicts initiated by Hamas' attack last year. Meanwhile, Biden emphasized the importance of enhancing US military defense in the Middle East and advocated for diplomatic solutions to the escalating conflicts.

In business news, Saudi mobility startup Shift raised $82.8 million in a landmark round led by Merak Capital to support their tech-driven mobility solutions across Saudi Arabia. Adding to the momentum, UAE-based Coral secured $3 million for carbon management tools, Morocco-based Kwiks raised $827,000 for AI-driven recruitment, and Userguest closed a $2.4 million seed round to enhance hotel revenue optimization tools.

Speaking of remarkable talents, 23-year-old Saudi culinary sensation Abdullah Sharbatly has stunned the internet with his shocking cooking videos, garnering over 150 million views. His under-20-second clips featuring live animals and unique ingredients have made waves, and Sharbatly continues to work in his family business while planning to expand his platform through product lines and workshops.

On the academic front, Saudi teen Sali Al-Harbi is aiming for the Nobel Prize with her notable innovations in chemistry and renewable energy. The 17-year-old from Qassim, recognized for her contributions to social responsibility, is making strides with her Mulhum Foundation, and her research has gained national acclaim.

Turning to the local economy, the AlUla Dates Festival Auction in Saudi Arabia has drawn global investors thanks to the diverse and high-quality date varieties showcased. With the palm sector being a crucial agricultural activity in AlUla, the festival, held until November 9th, highlights varieties like barni, halwa, anbara, and medjool.

Finally, at the 79th UN General Assembly, Saudi Arabia advocated for global cooperation, addressing Middle East conflicts. Deputy Minister Abdulrahman Al-Rassi discussed enhanced cooperation and economic development while focusing on halting Israeli violations against Palestinians and addressing the military escalations in Lebanon during key meetings with GCC, CELAC, and OIC foreign ministers.
