Biden Accuses Netanyahu of Politically Motivated Gaza War, Stakes Claim as Global Leader

US President Joe Biden criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with Time magazine, suggesting that Netanyahu was prolonging the Gaza conflict for political gain.
Biden expressed disagreement with Netanyahu over the post-conflict future of Gaza and accused Israel of inappropriate conduct during the war.

Biden also positioned himself as better suited than his election rival Donald Trump to handle international issues such as Ukraine, Taiwan, and Gaza.

The interview came before Netanyahu's announcement of a proposed Gaza ceasefire deal, which Biden had not endorsed at the time.

Biden and Netanyahu have had strained relations due to the rising death toll in Gaza and their differing views on creating a Palestinian state.

Biden's major disagreement with Netanyahu is over what happens after the conflict in Gaza, expressing that it cannot work if Israeli forces go back in.

Biden has prioritized defending Ukraine against Russia's invasion in his foreign policy and believes he is better suited than Trump to continue this effort, stating that peace involves ensuring Russia never occupies Ukraine again and that the Russian military has been significantly weakened.

In his speech, President Joe Biden criticized his Republican predecessor for threatening US alliances and cozying up to authoritarian leaders.

Biden named Hungary's Viktor Orban and Russia's Vladimir Putin as the only world leaders who support the former president.

Regarding China, Biden stated that the US would support self-ruled Taiwan and would not provoke a change in the status quo, but also emphasized that they were not seeking Taiwan's independence.

According to the text, US voters have expressed concerns about President Joe Biden's age, despite the fact that former President Donald Trump is also four years older at 77.

In response, Biden expressed confidence in his ability to serve effectively through a potential second term, which would end when he is 86 years old.

He stated, "I can do it better than anybody you know."
