Bahrain raises fine for failing to wear mask in public places
As per the order, all violations should be documented, and violators must be provided with payment receipts
Bahrain has raised the fine for failing to wear a face mask in public places from five Bahraini dinars (SR50 or $13.30 ) to 20 Bahraini dinars (SR200 or $53.2) as the kingdom battles to stem the spread of the coronavirus, the Bahrain News Agency reported.
The move, which is effective from Thursday (Sept. 24), comes following the order of the country’s Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
The minister has asked people at public places, industrial and commercial facilities, and all other places allocated to receive customers, applicants, or visitors to wear masks until further notice.
As per the order, all violations should be documented, and violators must be provided with payment receipts.
The required procedures will be taken against a violator who refuses to pay the fine, before referring his/her to the Public Prosecution, the order states.
