Baha Craftsmen Forum Engages Youth and Children in Traditional Artisanal Skills
The Baha Craftsmen Forum, organized by the Technical and Vocational Training Corp., teaches local youth and children about the region's renowned traditional handicrafts through specialized training courses.
Riyadh: The Baha Craftsmen Forum, a program initiated by the Technical and Vocational Training Corp., is offering young individuals and children hands-on experience in the traditional crafts for which the region of Baha is celebrated.
According to the Saudi Press Agency's recent report on Monday, the forum provides 10 distinct training courses aimed at preserving and promoting these traditional practices.
These courses range from crochet doll-making and palm weaving to stone and marble carving, blending heritage with contemporary design sensibilities.
The second week of the Baha Summer Festival, which hosts this year's forum in its month-long run, kicked off on Saturday with a significant influx of visitors.
This event, organized in collaboration with governmental bodies and private sector partners, features an array of training programs, dialogue sessions, and live interactive activities designed to celebrate cultural heritage.
The primary objective of the Baha Craftsmen Forum is not only to highlight the traditional crafts and rich cultural history of the region but also to facilitate meaningful interactions between artisans and the public.
This initiative aims at ensuring that these age-old skills remain relevant in today's market, while simultaneously fostering an appreciation for them among younger generations.
