Angela Rayner Promises Labour Action on Gaza, Acknowledges Limits if Elected

Angela Rayner, the UK's Labour Party deputy leader, has promised action to help alleviate the suffering in Gaza, as the party seeks to win back Muslim voters.
A leaked video from a meeting in Rayner's constituency, obtained by Guido Fawkes, shows her appealing to voters upset with the party's stance on Israel's assault on Gaza.

Rayner claims she has worked to get British doctors out of Rafah and is now trying to secure aid for the enclave.

She assured voters that the Labour Party is doing everything it can to help.

The Labour Party's deputy leader, Annabelle Rawner, admitted that her party would have limited influence in stopping the ongoing fighting, even if they won the July general election.

She noted that the Labour Party had previously supported the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the issue, but their ability to affect change would be limited while not in power.

She also acknowledged the limitations of influence for a Labour government compared to the US president, Joe Biden, and countries like Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Rawner expressed a desire to see an end to the fighting and promised to work towards that goal.

Labour Party leader, Angela Rayner, has pledged that if her party is elected, they will recognize Palestinian statehood and work to rebuild Gaza.

This recognition comes amidst reports of Muslim voters abandoning Labour due to its handling of the Gaza war.

Local elections in areas with large Muslim populations have seen Labour's support drop, including in Oldham, Greater Manchester, where they lost control of the council.

Leader Keir Starmer is determined to rebuild trust among these voters.

In a video, Labour Party leader candidate Anneliese Dodds's replacement, Lisa Nigel Rayner, expressed her desire to bring a ceasefire in the Middle East if she could, but acknowledged it was not within her power due to international community failure.

Rayner's statement came amidst anger over Middle Eastern issues.

Nigel Farage, Reform UK's honorary president, criticized Rayner, accusing her of seeking the Muslim vote.
