AlUla's Fruitful Summer Harvest Marks Community Celebration

Riyadh: The Royal Commission of AlUla has announced the commencement of the much-anticipated Summer Fruits of AlUla Season on Monday.
This annual event, known as Khayrat AlUla, runs from July 22 to 28 at Al-Manshiyah Farmers Market and celebrates the region's agricultural heritage by showcasing the produce of local farmers and productive families.
The initiative is integral to the commission's goals of driving economic growth through community engagement and development projects tied to AlUla’s harvest cycles.
AlUla, home to more than 5,000 farms and over 50,000 trees, boasts extensive agricultural diversity.
Its mango farms alone cover 125,000 hectares, yielding over 1,125 tonnes of sanarah and zubda varieties annually.
In addition to its renowned mangoes, the region produces over 3,141 tonnes of figs, grapes, and pomegranates across more than 348 hectares.
Khayrat AlUla serves as a testament to centuries-old agricultural practices known for their quality and distinctiveness, while also embracing modern sustainability principles that protect natural resources.
The commission views agriculture as a cornerstone in the pursuit of local economic development, an endeavor closely linked to boosting the tourism industry within AlUla.
