RIYADH: Nestled within the scenic landscape of Al-Baha, Al-Hussam Park is a prominent tourist attraction that draws nature enthusiasts, holiday-makers, and picnickers in large numbers during the summer season.
The park's beauty lies in its artificial lake, lush greenery, and serene waterfalls and fountains, creating an idyllic retreat for visitors seeking respite from the summer heat.The city of Al-Baha, situated on a mountain plateau, is preparing for a lively summer season under the banner "Color Your Summer," featuring various events including raffles and daily prize giveaways.
The park, named after Prince Hussam Bin Saud, overlooks both the city and the Tihami sector, providing breathtaking views that captivate all who visit.Professionals such as botany professor Mohammed Faisal from King Saud University have marveled at the beauty of Al-Hussam Park during their visits.
They highlight its refreshing environment with intermittent rains and cool breezes from nearby foggy mountaintops, making it a unique destination for summer tourism in the region.
The park's appeal extends to residents and visitors alike, serving as both a recreational spot and a hub for ecotourism.Engineer Nadeem Ahmad emphasizes the strategic location of Al-Hussam Park on the mountain top, adjacent to the Sarawat Mountains.
He describes it as one of the most prominent ecotourism spots in the area, complementing nearby parks such as Raghadan Park and adding to the collection of beautiful gardens scattered across this picturesque region.
Ahmad recommends that anyone visiting the Kingdom should include Al-Hussam Park in their itinerary.Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Sawat, the region's mayor, has provided detailed information about the park's vast facilities.
Spanning 160,000 square meters, the park features an expansive area of green spaces covering 132,264 square meters.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of amenities including 36 seating areas, 21 shaded structures, 1,400 trees, and 4,000 shrubs.
The park is home to a 1,200-square-meter artificial lake, 500 parking spaces, four children's play areas, 35 restrooms, an interactive fountain covering 1,000 square meters, two 10-meter-high waterfalls, a 700-meter walking path, prayer areas for both men and women, and an open-air theater capable of accommodating up to 1,000 people.Al-Hussam Park also hosts various cultural events during the summer season.
These include traditional performances that showcase the region's heritage, children's theater with educational activities, and diverse cultural shows representing different communities from around the world.
In addition, the park has implemented projects aimed at providing comfort and accessibility to elderly visitors and individuals with special needs, ensuring that everyone can enjoy this beautiful destination.
