Seasonal flights between Al-Ahsa International Airport and Rize-Artvin Airport in Turkiye aim to enhance air connectivity.
Riyadh, July 10, 2025 - Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, the governor of Al-Ahsa, officially launched the inaugural direct seasonal flights between Al-Ahsa International Airport and Rize-Artvin Airport in Turkiye.
This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Turkish Airlines and Al-Ghazal Travel and Tourism Agency, witnessed by several officials from both countries.
The launch represents part of an expansion plan for seasonal destinations served by Al-Ahsa International Airport, designed to bolster air connectivity and provide expanded international travel options for passengers hailing from the governorate and the Eastern Province during the summer months.
This move also aligns with efforts by the Al-Ahsa Development Authority to support the development of Al-Ahsa International Airport and enhance its services.
Governor Prince Saud highlighted that this expansion reflects the government's commitment to supporting civil aviation and air transport, as well as enhancing infrastructure and service quality for citizens and residents.
This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 goals aimed at promoting tourism and economic sectors while addressing the aspirations of Al-Ahsa governorate residents for direct international flights through their local airport.
In his remarks, Prince Saud praised all government and private entities contributing to the activation of these flights, emphasizing the importance of sector integration to deliver high-quality services that enhance Al-Ahsa's status, promote tourism and economic development, and solidify Al-Ahsa International Airport’s role as a burgeoning regional hub in air transport.
Mohammed bin Ali Al-Hassany, CEO of Dammam Airports Company, noted that the addition of flights to Rize-Artvin Airport is part of a broader seasonal flight plan for 2025, intended to boost international travel and tourism through Al-Ahsa International Airport.
This development is set to contribute positively to air connectivity within the region.
