West Pressures Thailand to Take Their Side Against Russia. But Thailand’s business is tourism, pleasure and health, not war-business.

But the Thai government has been democratically elected by the Thai people, to serve the Thai people. And the Thai people are not stupid and not driven by blind hate. They know that it’s 'the people of the world' who are paying for the rising prices of everything, because of the sanctions. Putin will continue to eat well and have enough money for his own needs, with or without sanctions. Why must the people of the entire world (who have nothing to do with Putin or Ukraine) be punished by those sanctions?

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has insisted that Thailand will maintain its neutrality in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

He is not against Ukraine, nor against Russia. He is not against the EU and is obviously not against the USA. He simply does not believe that he should punish his Thai citizens with the economic consequences of those useless and 'double-edged sword' sanctions.

Boris Johnson and Biden impose extreme sanctions, without realizing that by doing so they hurt and damage their own economy and people: the consequences are significant, and the general public in US, EU, UK and the rest of the world are punished as a result of those sanctions, for doing nothing wrong.

Why should US, British and European citizens be punished so harshly by these sanctions? What benefit do the sanctions provide to anybody, as they don’t prevent the war in any event?

Mr. Prayut Chan-o-cha does not believe that the Thai people (who have nothing to do with the war), should be punished for the actions of others - right, or wrong, in Russia and Ukraine.

Thai people are not stupid. They do not believe they should damage their own economy with a simply zero chance that this pressure will convince Putin to surrender.

It is important to protect Ukrainian civilians from anybody who try to kill them. But sanctions do not protect them, but pushing Russia to become much more aggressive. Sanctions doesn’t save Ukrainian lives, but exactly the opposite.

The USA and Europe appear to believe that 'they' should pay the rising prices of gas and food as if they are guilty for what’s happening in Ukraine? No problem. But why should any other normal person with the minimum sense of logic join this stupidity?

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”.

(Albert Einstein)

Years and years of sanctions have failed to achieve the expected results in Cuba, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea…. What is the point of repeating such a well proven failure strategy that has never ever worked, and, worst of all, these sanctions punish the American and European people who are now paying soaring prices for gas and food? (And, remember, Vladimir Putin continues to have all the best food, anyway).

The West believes in the destruction of others, at the cost of self-destruction, as a means of persuasion.

Asian countries, as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) very well proves, believe in the inclusion, construction and empowerment and the prosperity of others, by boosting their economy and not their war machines, as a means of long term, genuine and loyal friendship.

I'm sure all Asian countries, all the people of Thailand, are opposed to the horrific killing of civilians in Ukraine. No one really support it in a Russia too.

But, be sure that they all also know that Ukraine is paying the price of NATO's interest in placing on Ukraine's border with Russia weapons against Moscow.

And everybody knows that Putin is doing exactly as the USA and Europe would do if Moscow placed their weapons in USA and EU neighborhoods such as Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico, Ireland, or Serbia.

In the Ukraine, Putin has done nothing that the USA and EU did not do against innocent civilians in Europe (Yugoslavia), Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan.

Nothing here is trying to justify anything that Putin has done so bad and so wrong against civilians. Not at all. But… this is just to reaffirm that Thai people are not so stupid as to ignore the reality of this situation, with a healthy sense of proportion, balance and justice: Not to support Putin in killing civilians of course, but also not to commit economic-suicide on the basis of the culture of hate, destruction and self-punishment.

Not everybody in Thailand likes Mr. Prayut. Not everybody  voted for him (is there any politician in the history of the world that everybody like and voted for?) but, by serving the best interests of his country, his people and his voters, and standing firm against pushing him to make the Thai people suffer from imposing sanctions against Russia, Mr. Prayut Chan-o-cha proves that he is a real and loyal leader of his country and his people, not 'a foriegn-interests puppet'.

Respect!
