US Navy Intercepts Two Houthi Drones in Red Sea, CENTCOM Says
The US Central Command reported that two drones launched by Yemen's Houthi militia were destroyed on Tuesday in the Red Sea.
The drones were aimed at US Navy and commercial ships but were intercepted before reaching their targets.
No injuries or damage were reported.
In response, the Houthis claimed that US and UK forces carried out airstrikes in the Bajil District of Hodeidah, but provided no details about the targeted locations or damage caused.
The Houthis, a militant group in Yemen, have been launching missiles and drones at commercial and navy ships in the Red Sea, Bab Al-Mandab Strait, and Gulf of Aden since November.
They claim these attacks are in support of Palestinians.
In response, the US has formed a coalition of marine forces to defend the Red Sea and launched hundreds of airstrikes on Houthi targets in Sanaa, Saada, and other areas under Houthi control.
