Trump will not give a penny to Ukraine — Hungary PM Orban
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban claims that if Donald Trump is reelected as President of the United States, he will not financially support Ukraine against the Russian invasion, potentially leading to the end of the conflict.
During a meeting with Trump in Florida, Orban, a supporter of Trump's 2024 run for the White House, stated Trump has plans to quickly end the war without providing specifics.
Orban believes without American aid, which he deems crucial as Europe cannot sustain funding alone, Ukraine will be unable to continue the war.
Orban has faced criticism within the EU for his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his refusal to send arms to Ukraine.
There are growing concerns in Europe that a second Trump presidency would diminish U.S. military and economic support to Ukraine and NATO. Currently, a significant U.S. foreign aid package, including military aid for Ukraine, is being blocked in Congress by Republicans pushing for additional domestic border security funding.
The situation is aggravated by recent advancements by Russian forces in Ukraine and the country's dire need for ammunition. Dependence on U.S. and Western arms is critical for Ukraine in its struggle against the larger and better-equipped Russian military.
