President Donald Trump plans to meet with the Qatari prime minister in New York following Israel's attack on Hamas leaders in Doha.

Donald Trump is set to meet with Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in New York on Friday, a White House official announced.
This meeting comes in the wake of an Israeli strike against Hamas leaders in Doha, which occurred on Tuesday.
The details regarding the timing and agenda of the meeting have not been disclosed.
However, it is understood that the attack risked disrupting US-backed efforts to broker a truce between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, as well as hindering progress towards ending the ongoing conflict that has lasted nearly two years.
Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with Israel's actions, describing them as a unilateral move that does not align with US or Israeli interests.
Qatar is recognized by Washington as a key Gulf ally and has played a significant role as a mediator in negotiations aimed at achieving a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, securing the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza, and devising a post-conflict plan for the territory.
Qatar's Prime Minister Al-Thani condemned Israel's attack on Tuesday, accusing them of attempting to sabotage peace prospects.
Despite this, Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to serving as a mediator in resolving the conflict.
In addition to meeting with the Qatari prime minister, Al-Thani is also scheduled to meet with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, according to a statement released by the State Department on Thursday.
The Israeli assault on Gaza since October 2023 has resulted in the deaths of over 64,000 individuals, as reported by Palestinian health officials.
This conflict has led to the internal displacement of almost the entire population of Gaza and has triggered a severe starvation crisis.
Rights experts and scholars have asserted that Israel's military actions in Gaza constitute genocide.
However, Israel has rejected these claims.
The conflict began following an October 2023 attack by Hamas-led militants, which resulted in the deaths of 1,200 individuals and the capture of more than 250 hostages, according to Israeli estimates.
As part of this larger conflict, Israel has also conducted bombing campaigns in Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and Yemen.
