Tom Cruise Lists His Grand Colorado

The custom-built residence in Telluride sits on 320 acres and presents panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise is looking to cut ties with his sprawling mountain getaway in Telluride, Colorado. The award-winning actor and producer built the home in 1994, which was about two years before he starred in the hit movie Mission: Impossible. Tucked away on a densely wooded 320-acre lot, the chalet-like compound is accessible via a scenic, gated drive that leads to the heart of the historic downtown area.



A one-mile driveway with a gated entry leads to the secluded estate in Telluride, Colorado. Hollywood actor Tom Cruise built the compound in 1994-after many years of planning-to prioritize the site’s unspoiled natural beauty.

Bleached cedar timbers and native stone adorn the estate’s main residence, which spans nearly 10,000 square feet. Upon entry, a grand foyer opens to the home’s voluminous gathering spaces, all of which are decorated with a rustic, ranch-style aesthetic. In the primary family room, a massive stone fireplace creates a cozy, intimate atmosphere for residents and guests. Meanwhile, floor-to-ceiling windows offer spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

The kitchen, sited near the living room, is also cloaked with warm-wood finishes. High-end, stainless steel appliances complement the custom cabinetry, and an oversized central island offers ample space for meal prepping. Nearby, the dining area features a long wood table that easily accommodates both large and small gatherings.



A central island serves as the main focus in the wood-clad kitchen, which includes three built-in refrigerators and a commercial gas range.



Plush sofas offer plenty of seating near the wood-burning fireplace in the living room.

The four-bedroom, six-bathroom main house also includes several outdoor terraces, as well as a fitness center, library, media room, and three-car garage. There’s also a large recreation room that currently houses a pool table, foosball table, and piano. A peaceful three-bedroom, three-bedroom guest lodge sits nestled in thick aspen groves just a short stroll from the primary residence.

The living room boasts two stone fireplaces, both of which were made by local craftspeople.

To take advantage of the Rocky Mountain estate’s extremely generous size, a number of private, forested trails were carved throughout the property, all of which offer majestic mountain views.
