Those who who received Sinopharm and want to travel to Saudi Arabia will be given other vaccine
The official in charge of the Coronavirus file in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Adel Al-Belbisi, announced Saturday that those who were previously given the Sinopharm vaccine and wish to travel to Saudi Arabia will be given another vaccine that is recognized by Saudi Arabia.
Sinopharm is not among the vaccines registered for use in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Belbeisi added in a statement to Roya that this approach follows other diplomatic channels to resolve the problem through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Al-Belbisi also told Roya that the Ministry of Health is allowing those under 30 who are not yet registered for the vaccine on the MoH's platform to go to vaccine centers and receive the vaccine directly.
Belbeisi indicated that this comes as a step by the ministry to encourage people to receive the vaccine, and to give the vaccine to the largest number of people before the month of September, to reach community immunity as soon as possible.
Belbisi further stated that studies are underway to understand the effect of mixing two different vaccines.
Al-Belbisi noted that if Jordan decides to mix vaccines, it will not be done on all vaccines, but only on the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.
