“Sword of Peace 12” joint exercise of Saudi Armed Forces concludes
Saudi Arabia's largest military drill, "Sword of Peace 12," successfully concluded in the northern region with a ceremony attended by Chief of the General Staff Gen. Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, representing Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman.
The exercise involved over 100,000 personnel from different branches of the armed forces, the Ministry of Interior, the National Guard, the Presidency of State Security, and various civilian and military agencies.
Gen. Al-Ruwaili was welcomed by senior officials, including Maj. Gen. Misfer Al-Ghanem and Maj. Gen. Khaled Al-Juhani, upon arrival. The final joint drill showcased a response to hostile actions, demonstrating the forces' combat readiness and ability to safeguard the Kingdom's security and sovereignty.
At the event, Gen. Al-Ruwaili lauded the armed forces' skill, collaboration, and performance throughout the exercise stages. He emphasized ongoing training and learning from the drill to prepare for the upcoming "Shumukh Tuwaiq 2," a major national exercise.
He praised Saudi Arabia's peaceful stance but affirmed its preparedness to defend national interests and citizens if needed. Prince Khalid bin Salman's commitment to enhancing military capabilities and standards was also acknowledged. Gen. Al-Ruwaili extended thanks to all exercise participants for their effective involvement.
Distinguished military leaders, including Lt. Gen. Mutlaq Al-Azima and others across various forces, attended the ceremony, representing the contributing services and ministries.
