Saudi Arabia and United States Report Improved Adherence to Ceasefire in Sudan
Saudi Arabia and the United States have reported improved respect for a ceasefire and humanitarian arrangements in Sudan on May 25, following significant breaches on May 24.
Although isolated gunfire and military aircraft were detected in Khartoum, the situation improved.
The facilitators cautioned the parties against further violations and urged them to improve respect for the ceasefire on May 25, which they did.
Humanitarian actors delivered medical supplies and maintenance crews made repairs to restore telecommunications services in Sudan.
The facilitators urge the parties to carry forward the progress for the remainder of the ceasefire and abide by their commitments under the May 11 Declaration of Commitment to Protect the Civilians of Sudan.
