Saudi student raises the Kingdom's medal tally after winning in IOI 2022
Saudi student Abdulaziz Al-Shibli raised the Kingdom’s tally of medals after winning in the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2022).
Al-Shibli, who is studying in the Riyadh Education Department’s third year secondary school, has won a bronze medal out of 349 students in the 34th edition of the IOI 2022.
With the success of Al-Shibili, Saudi Arabia's medal tally rose to three bronze medals during its fourth participation in the IOI competition.
The International Olympiad in Informatics is currently being held in Indonesia, with the participation of 89 countries.
The Acting Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) Dr. Amal Al-Haza'a has stated that this national achievement won by Al-Shibili was achieved with the leadership’s support for the youth of the country, in addition, it resulted from the integration of efforts between Mawhiba and the Ministry of Education.
It is noteworthy that a team of 4 students from different regions have represented the Kingdom in the Olympiad, namely: Abdulaziz Al-Shibli and Al-Muthanna Al-Zahrani from the Riyadh Education Department, Adeeb Al-Shehri from the Eastern Province Education Department, and Abdul Mohsen Saleh from the Jeddah Education Department.
