Saudi Singer Mohammed Abdu Reveals Cancer Diagnosis, Receives Outpouring of Support
Saudi Arabian singer Mohammed Abdu, known as "Fanan Al-Arab" or "Artist of the Arabs," revealed he is undergoing cancer treatment in Paris.
His diagnosis was met with well-wishes from celebrities, social media users, and fans.
Abdu spoke about the passing of renowned Saudi poet Prince Badr bin Abdulmohsin on Al-Arabiya channel, recalling their friendship since the 1960s and sharing an audio recording of their conversation the day before his death.
Prince Badr, a Saudi Arabian prince, passed away in Paris on a Saturday.
His body was returned to Saudi Arabia and he was buried in Al-Oud Cemetery after offering funeral prayers at the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh on a Sunday.
Before his death, Prince Badr received a heartfelt message from Saudi singer Abdu, who expressed his brotherhood and friendship towards the prince.
Abdu also shared that he was undergoing chemotherapy in Paris for an illness.
In response, Prince Badr expressed his love and well-wishes for Abdu's speedy recovery.
Abdu, who is 74 years old, revealed in an audio message to Rotana that he had been diagnosed with an illness and had been undergoing treatment and medication in Paris to prevent it from spreading.
He expressed hope of overcoming the disease.
