Saudi Influencer Showcases Kingdom's Cultural Heritage by Featuring Traditional Beverages
A Saudi influencer is promoting the country's rich cultural heritage by featuring traditional beverages that represent Saudi hospitality.
Talal Al-Issa recommends a variety of drinks for various occasions, including Arabic coffee and tea for everyday enjoyment, as well as karak tea and ginger milk to warm up during the winter in certain cities.
Speaking with Arab News, Al-Issa explained that each season has its signature drink, served differently to suit the weather.
He emphasized that Saudi Arabia's diverse drink selection reflects the unique geography and culture of its regions. This diversity also plays a key role in helping visitors experience the country's history.
Al-Issa takes pride in Saudi coffee culture, considering it a symbol of local tradition and regional identity. For Saudis, serving beverages is a way to demonstrate hospitality, generosity, and cultural values inherited over generations.
"Coffee and tea act as a gateway to cultural exchange and embody our Saudi heritage," Al-Issa said, praising his country's inventive serving methods. He observed that the warm reception visitors receive fosters respect and appreciation for Saudi Arabia.
He pointed out that the varying preparation techniques across regions showcase the Kingdom's cultural wealth and deep historical roots. He stressed that, despite modernization, Saudis preserve this heritage as a connection to their ancestors.
Al-Issa often wears traditional attire when serving drinks to represent the culture better. He noted that international perceptions are shifting away from stereotypes about Saudi clothing and cuisine, partly due to limited exposure in media.
However, he’s optimistic, as Saudi culture's sophistication is reaching global stages, through theaters and fashion shows, to convey its true essence.
