Saudi embassy warns nationals about flight suspension in Russian airports
The Saudi Embassy in Moscow warned its nationals that the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency has announced the temporary suspension of flights at some airports in southern Russia until March 2.
The embassy stated: “Due to the worsening situation around Ukraine, from Feb. 24 at 03:45 Moscow time, flights in a number of airports in southern Russia have been temporarily suspended. The restrictions will be on until 03:45 Moscow time on the 2nd of March."
The temporarily suspended airports are Anapa (Vityazevo), Gelendzhik, Elista, Stavropol (Shpakovskoye) and Kursk. In addition to the international airports Rostov (Platov), Krasnodar (Pashkovsky), Belgorod, Bryansk, Simferopol and Voronezh.
"The Russian aviation authorities strongly do not recommend that passengers on upcoming flights and those who are meeting flights go to those airports," the embassy added.
The embassy also urged Saudi nationals to follow up on all changes in the schedule of airports and airlines that are clarified on the official websites of airports and airlines, including social networks.
