Prince Khalid conveyed the greetings of Saudi Arabia’s leadership to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and reviewed ties between the two countries during his meeting, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The deputy defense minister said on Twitter that the Kingdom and Qatar share “brotherly ties and a common destiny.”

Prince Khalid also quoted a line from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s recent interview with The Atlantic magazine describing Saudi-Qatari relations as “better than ever in history.”

He continued: “With the wisdom of our leaders, we are all moving forward, God willing, in achieving good and development for the benefit of our countries.”

Earlier on Monday, the deputy defense minister said he had met with the Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto “to discuss ways to enhance military and defense cooperation between our two friendly countries, and review a number of global and regional issues of mutual interest.”

The Indonesian minister is in the Kingdom to visit the World Defense Show taking place in Riyadh.

Tweeting about the four-day future focused defense event, Prince Khalid said it “demonstrates the Kingdom’s interest in military industries through the development of an integrated global platform, centered on the future of the defense industry.”

He added: “This platform allows for reviewing the latest global technical developments in the defense field as well as operational compatibility.”
