Saudi Communications: 2.4 Million Int'l Calls on 10th of Dhuʻl-Hijjah ... Mostly from Egypt
The Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) revealed that the number of local calls exceeded 16 million calls on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, and the number of international calls recorded 2.4 million, with a success rate of more than 99%, indicating that most of the outgoing and incoming calls were from Egypt.
In a statement on the performance of telecommunication networks in Mecca on the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah, the authority said that the volume of data consumption amounted to 3.35 thousand terabytes, equivalent to watching 1.37 million hours of 1080p HD video clips.
The average daily per capita data consumption reached 814.09 MB/subscriber, exceeding 3 times the global per capita consumption of 200 MB/subscriber, according to statistics issued by the authority.
The statistics showed that the rate of mobile internet download speeds amounted to 270.83 Mbit/s, an increase of 3% compared to last year, and the upload speed reached 37.46 Mbit/s, an increase of 19%, year-on-year.
