Saudi Arabia’s climate envoy Adel Al-Jubeir met with several international officials on the sidelines of the Ocean Action event in Costa Rica to discuss climate initiatives and common environmental interests. The meetings aimed to prepare for the 3rd UN Ocean Conference to be held in France in 2025. Among the topics discussed were the ocean's role in CO2 absorption, sustainable fishing, and marine pollution.

Costa Rica, during the 'Ocean Action: Immersed in Change' high-level event.
Al-Jubeir, also serving as the minister of state for foreign affairs and a cabinet member, had separate meetings with Brazil’s Secretary of Multilateral Political Affairs Carlos Márcio Bicalho Cozendey, Ecuador's Minister of Environment Sade Fritschi, French Minister of State for Marine Affairs Herve Berville, Spain’s Secretary of State for the Environment Hugo Moran, and Qatar’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change Abdullah Al-Subaie.
The discussions focused on climate initiatives, bilateral relations, and common environmental interests.
