Saudi Arabia's Makkah Agricultural Nursery: Creating 110,000 Sqm of Green Spaces and Donating 1.2 Million Plants for Sustainable Development
The State Properties General Authority gave seedlings from their Makkah agricultural nursery to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Alahyaa Centers Association.
This was done as part of the authority's initiatives for sustainable development and afforestation, improving vegetation cover.
The contribution was made on Saudi Green Initiative Day, March 27.
The authority also builds and operates nurseries with advanced systems to boost production and create favorable conditions for plant growth.
The text describes a project in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, which has resulted in the creation of 110,000 square meters of green spaces in government compounds.
Over 40 government entities have received plants, trees, and shrubs.
The project's nursery produces 1.2 million blooming plants annually, including 200,000 perennials and vines, 20,000 outdoor trees, 30,000 shrubs, and 5,000 indoor plants.
