Saudi Arabia's King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Begins Comprehensive Archaeological Survey with Partners
Saudi Arabia's King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority announced the launch of a comprehensive archaeological survey in partnership with King Saud University and the Heritage Commission.
The study aims to achieve strategic objectives for the royal reserves and targets for 2030, using satellite technology and on-site visits to discover and report on archaeological sites.
A survey is being conducted to study and preserve archaeological and historic sites, rehabilitate existing ones, and label suitable sites as tourist attractions.
The King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve is one of seven reserves established by royal decree, and it is a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
The reserve is managed by an independent body headed by the Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif.
