Saudi Arabia reaches advanced ranks in global indicators in digital transformation

The Digital Government Authority (DGA) revealed on Monday, in a statement, Saudi Arabia's achievements and wide successes of digital transformation, which has enhanced its position by reaching advanced ranks in global indicators.
The DGA stated Saudi Arabia ranked among the first group of the highest pioneering and innovative countries in the areas of providing government services and interacting with citizens, according to the (GovTech) report issued last September by the World Bank.

While Saudi Arabia jumped 9 positions in the United Nations E-Government Development Index (EGDI) in 2020, at 83%, the maturity rate of government services has increased as 97% of all government services are provided digitally.

The authority confirmed that most initiatives have been launched for government work and to raise its efficiency of the governance of digital platforms and government websites, in addition to launching an experimental regulatory environment of the private sector.

The government services recorded 4 million electronic procuration and 2.7 million remote sessions through the Najis platform, which was considered the most prominent government services by numbers.

About 23.5 million users have been documented on the Absher platform, while 2.8 million lease contracts have been documented, in addition to 3 million requests through the Baladi platform have been implemented.

About 99% of service applicants complete their business electronically, while 40 billion transactions are carried out per week for more than 25.8 million users through the Tawakkalna app.

In education terms, 154 million virtual classes have been provided to more than 6 million students through the Madrasati platform.

The DGA indicated that 30 million doses for more than 20 million beneficiaries were requested through the Sehaty platform, in addition to carrying out 69 million operations through Etimad platform.
