Saudi Arabia ranks 6th among G20 countries in terms of market value: CITC

Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) Dr. Mohammed Bin Saud Al-Tamimi inaugurated in Riyadh Tuesday the eighth edition of CT Indicators Forum 2022, under the patronage and presence of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng.
Abdullah Al-Swaha and the participation of several ministers, sector leaders, heads of technology companies in Saudi Arabia, and several experts and specialists in the communications and information technology sector.

In his inaugural speech, Dr. Al-Tamimi said that the progress witnessed by the communications and information technology sector in Saudi Arabia reflects the interest and support the wise leadership lends for this vital sector and reflects the close follow up of minister of communications and information technology, who is also chairman of CITC.

He referred to the communications market in Saudi Arabia as one of the most growing at the level of G20, supported by the incentives offered by Saudi Vision 2030 and its role in accelerating the growth and innovation pace, resulting in pushing Saudi Arabia to the sixth rank among G20 countries in terms of the market value and achieve the highest rates of progress and achievement among them through the frequency spectrum allocated for mobile communication services at the international level, making it rank the second among G20 countries.

He also said that the forum focuses on three main goals of providing the latest data and information on the sector through modern indicators and performance indicators, in addition to shedding light on the latest global trends in the field of communications and information technology.

He said this does not only affect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia but also the region and beyond, and the scope of their influence on the public life and work styles and the way people communicate, and finally encouraging and enriching constructive dialogue on some challenges and opportunities that economies face today.

The forum also explore solutions that should be provided by the communications and information technology sector in a world that progresses with accelerating steps towards digital transformation.
