Mecca records highest temperature on Earth

Arafat, a plain located around 20km southeast of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, recorded 50 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature on Earth on Sunday, according to Arabic website Arabia Weather.
Arabia Weather warned that Mecca and the holy sites were affected by hot and dry winds, raising temperatures dramatically.
