Saudi Arabia and Iraq Sign Agreements to Boost Economic Cooperation and Develop Special Economic Zone
Saudi Arabia and Iraq have signed several agreements to boost economic cooperation and develop a special economic zone.
The agreements aim to enhance trade between the two countries and identify opportunities to boost bilateral trade and investments.
The meeting, which was attended by Saudi Commerce Minister and Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister, also saw the growth of trade between the two countries reach $1.5 billion in 2022.
The participants agreed to effectively utilize the newly opened Arar Port and expedite the opening of the Jumaimah border crossing.
The Saudi-Iraqi Economic Forum, held on the sidelines of the coordination council meeting, was attended by more than 300 businessmen from the two countries, with the Kingdom aiming to raise exports to Iraq to $10 billion over the next five years.
