Saudi Arabia hands over 87 housing units to Tunisia for low-income families
Saudi Arabia has handed over 87 housing units, funded by the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), for the low-income families in the city of Ghardimaou, in the Jendouba Governorate, northwest of Tunisia.
The first phase of the Riyadh housing project included providing 4,715 social housing, with an amount of $150 million (more than half a billion riyals). This came with a soft financing from SFD.
The handing over of the units was witnessed by the Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Ali Al-Saqr and the Minister of Equipment and Housing Sarah Al-Zaafrani.
Al-Saqr has confirmed that the Kingdom's embassy in Tunisia is following up on these projects, which serve the Saudi-Tunisian relationship, and is looking forward to more joint cooperation in order to achieve the desired goal.
He said that there are many more projects in the fields of health, culture, heritage that is under study and the start of construction work.
In all 1,939 units completed, Al-Saqr said, indicating that they are awaiting the readiness of the list of beneficiaries.
Al-Saqr mentioned the previously handed over housing, which is estimated at 331 in the city of Kairouan, and 18 in the city of Oued Mliz., were well received.
On her side, Al-Zaafrani thanked Saudi Arabia's leaders and people, confirming that this achievement will enable many families with low income to live a decent life.
