Saudi Arabia and Iran Reaffirm Full Commitment to Implement Beijing Agreement
Saudi Arabia and Iran confirm their commitment to the Beijing Agreement after a tripartite committee meeting with China ended in Beijing. Chaired by Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Deng Li, the committee with Waleed Al-Khereiji from Saudi Arabia and Dr. Ali Bagheri Kani from Iran assessed the progress in Saudi-Iran relations since the deal, including embassy re-openings and ministerial exchanges. China was thanked for facilitating the improvements and offered continued support.
The group discussed cooperation and the Gaza situation, calling for an end to military action and support for Palestinian self-determination. Future committee meetings are planned, with Saudi Arabia hosting the next in June 2024.
