Tunisian President Kais Saied dismissed Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani without providing an explanation on Wednesday.
Hachani, who assumed office on August 1 last year, had replaced Najla Bouden, who was also removed by Saied without a stated reason.
Saied has appointed Kamel Madouri, the social affairs minister since May, as the new Prime Minister.
The changes come ahead of the presidential elections slated for October 6, with Saied aiming for a second term.
The country’s constitution was revised in 2022, establishing a presidential regime that significantly limits parliamentary powers.
