Israeli forces intensified their offensive across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, killing at least 39 Palestinians, including local journalist Mohammad Abu Jasser and his family. Another late-night strike on an encampment killed at least 10 people. The Israeli military continues operations targeting Hamas gunmen and infrastructure in Rafah and central Gaza.
Israeli forces intensified their offensive across the Gaza Strip on Saturday, resulting in at least 39 Palestinian deaths, according to health officials.
As tanks advanced deeper into Rafah and northern Gaza, local journalist Mohammad Abu Jasser, his wife, and two children were killed in an airstrike on their home.
This brought the total number of Palestinian media personnel killed since October 7 to 161.
Another Israeli airstrike just before midnight targeted an encampment of displaced families, killing at least 10.
In Al-Nuseirat camp, an airstrike killed three individuals and injured eight others.
The Israeli military reported continued operations in Rafah, targeting Hamas gunmen and infrastructure.
In central Gaza, military raids were conducted on Hamas sites, including a structure in Deir Al-Balah allegedly used by Palestinian groups for military purposes.
Efforts for a ceasefire led by Qatar and Egypt, and backed by the U.S., have stalled.
Israeli authorities report that since October 7, 1,200 Israelis have been killed and more than 250 taken hostage.
Gaza health authorities report 38,919 Palestinian deaths in Israel's retaliatory offensive thus far.
Israel claims to have killed or captured around 14,000 Hamas fighters and lost 326 soldiers during the conflict.
