This collaboration aims to explore the establishment of an integrated commercial vehicle manufacturing plant within the Kingdom.
The MoU seeks to enhance local capabilities in manufacturing and logistics, thereby strengthening supply chains and increasing localization rates in the automotive sector.
Production under this initiative will encompass a range of commercial vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks, light-duty trucks, and buses.
Amr Al-Dabbagh, Chairman and CEO of Al-Dabbagh Group, expressed pride over the partnership with Foton, noting that it aligns with ambitions to foster a diversified economy based on industry and technology.
Chang Rui, Chairman of BAIC Foton, also emphasized the importance of this collaboration in localizing advanced technologies within Saudi Arabia.
The project is supported by several governmental bodies, including the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Investment, the National Industrial Development Center, the Saudi Industrial Development Fund, and the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority.
Expected outcomes include job creation for national talent, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and contributions towards a sustainable industrial economy in the Kingdom.
