Norway Seeks ICJ Intervention on Israel-UN Refugee Agency Ban; Saudi Arabia Drives Housing and Innovation under Vision 2030

Norway seeks ICJ advice amid Israel-UN Refugee Agency tensions, as global concern for Gaza aid and regional peace intensifies. Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and COP29 highlight both domestic progress and global climate funding needs.
Norway is seeking advice from the International Court of Justice in response to Israel's ban on cooperating with the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, as concerns grow over humanitarian aid to Gaza and regional stability. Meanwhile, this move is attracting interest from UN member states who are eager to address the obstacles to delivering necessary aid, underscoring the urgency of the situation.

In a related theme of development and progress, Saudi Arabia's National Housing Co. has unveiled 11 new residential projects in Riyadh as part of Vision 2030, aiming to diversify housing options and increase homeownership to 70%. The projects prioritize quality and modern amenities, contributing substantially to improving living standards in the Kingdom.

As Saudi Arabia advances its domestic projects, developing nations at COP29 in Baku are calling for robust climate funding commitments from developed countries to effectively tackle global temperature rises. Countries like Cambodia and Costa Rica are setting the bar with ambitious climate targets, emphasizing the imperative of private-sector collaboration and decarbonization efforts.

Back in Riyadh at the Misk Global Forum, Princess Haifa bint Mohammed Al-Saud spoke passionately to Saudi youth about embracing technology and innovation as key aspects of Vision 2030. This aligns with the Kingdom's transformative efforts to empower the young generation, reduce unemployment, and foster a thriving environment for creativity and innovation.

Switching focus to Jordan, the country has seen a 1.31% rise in wholesale prices, spurred by increasing costs in agriculture and utilities, though the tourism sector continues to face challenges. Inflation and rising costs are highlighted by the consumer price index's increase, reflecting ongoing economic adjustments in the region.

Finally, the Saudi Cabinet has expressed its concern over Israeli policies in the West Bank, advocating for regional peace and sustainable development while strengthening international ties through initiatives like the Riyadh Economic Forum. This stance underscores the Kingdom's commitment to regional stability and comprehensive development.
