MHRSD wing settles class action lawsuit of 254 workers against their company

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has been instrumental in resolving the labor dispute involving 254 workers of different nationalities and their employer.
The field team of the Amicable Settlement Department at the ministry’s branch in the Riyadh region has swung into action to reach settlement after filing of a class action lawsuit by the workers against their company.

The settlement under the Wudi system included ending the relationship between the workers and the company and disbursing arrears of their salary and allowances. The labor dispute was resolved satisfactorily through a series of amicable settlement sessions between the parties involved in the dispute.

The ministry’s branch in Riyadh told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that the cases received by the Amicable Settlement Departments in general include disputes related to work contracts, wages, rights, work injuries and compensation, vacation allowances, as well as disputes over everything related to work and the terms of contracts that had concluded between companies and workers.

The ministry works through the Department of Amicable Settlement to try to resolve issues amicably, in a way protecting the rights of both parties to the contractual relationship. The ministry pays great attention to settling disputes between the two parties and ensuring stabilizing their relationship on the one hand, ending labor issues in all establishments on the other hand, and providing a healthy work environment for all workers and employers.

The ministry also made the friendly settlement services fully automatic through its official website, including the service of submitting the case electronically.
